A. Society for Health Systems using FlexSim
“The competition is sponsored by FlexSim Software Products Inc. Teams of a maximum of four ISE students solve a “real-world” healthcare situational case study using FlexSim’s simulation software. This case study is prepared by FlexSim. Student team members and their faculty advisor are not required to be members of IISE or SHS to enter the competition, but they will become SHS members, for one year, if they are one of the three teams selected to compete at the finals courtesy of FlexSim.”
“Teams of three IE undergraduate students solve a real-world situational case study using the Rockwell Automation simulation package, Arena. This case study is prepared by Rockwell. Student team members and their faculty advisor are not required to be members of IISE to enter the competition, but they will become IISE members, for one year, if they are one of the three teams selected to compete at the finals courtesy of Rockwell Automation. The finalists must be able to attend the IISE Annual Conference & Expo May 19 – 22, 2018 in Orlando.”
“Showcase your creativity in ISE design by working as a team to develop the conceptual design for a new product to meet an unmet need in the global marketplace. Create a five-minute concept pitch to be presented in front of a live audience and a judging panel of industry professionals. The pitch should present the concept design, describe the target market and demonstrate why the concept will be profitable (including how the concept design improves over existing designs and your team’s plan for marketing the product).”
“The purpose of the competition is to encourage undergraduate students to write and present outstanding technical papers.”
